In another episode of Read the Fucking Room, yesterday a Pokémon card was sold for $16.5 million. The players in this story should comes as no surprise. Accused fraudster and famously unlikable douche Logan Paul (source) was the seller while the buyer was nepobaby A.J. Scaramucci, son of Trump sycophant Anthony Scaramucci. The card’s value got a (suspiciously) nice bump, going for nearly 3 times what Paul paid for it just 5 years ago. The vocal Trump supporter bought the card for $5,275,000 in 2021. ...

I just watched the video of Alex Pretti being murdered by a gang of federal ICE agents. Although, to be fair, they look more like Mexican drug cartel thugs rather than federal law enforcement officers. It’s incredible to watch what’s happening in America. And also to watch what’s not happening. I remember watching the L.A. Riots on live TV after city cops were acquitted for beating Rodney King on the side of the highway. ...

It was obvious that the “tide” was turning, but it should also have been obvious that it wouldn’t be a tsunami. We were all fed up with the feds since the sponsorship scandal broke, but it’s been clear that Canadians weren’t jumping with joy onto the Conservative bandwagon. Personally, I was expecting another (albeit it narrower) Liberal minority government. ...

I decided to go lightweight and wordpress-free for the first time with lazysupper.com. The previous version (though not the oldest) still lives at lazysupper.wordpress.com. The earliest posts, I’m afraid, are lost to the ether of history. Get down, Mark! While I like the simplicity and usability of a web UI, I’ve also become a fan of markdown. And having my content serparate and platform agnostic in .md files is highly appealing. (Which is the primary reason for giving headless a shot.)
